It offers a great mopping experience, but doesn't have the features that make up its more expensive sibling.

But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't utilize LIDAR to help you map your home.

iRobot Roomba s9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top robot vacuums. It is loaded with features and incredible cleaning power, including the dirt compartment integrated into the base of charging. This robot can recognize your habits for cleaning and suggest automatic schedules to give you a truly hands-free cleaning experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once the system is set up it can begin automatic cleaning with a single button press. You can choose the general clean option, which prioritizes the removal of larger debris such as cereal and rice. You can also choose two mappings to ensure that your entire home is cleaned thoroughly.

This robot vacuum performs well on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It is able to pick up pet hair and clean large items up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It's a challenge with high-pile carpets or plush carpets however iRobot promises that the next models will be better.

The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that focuses on improving the edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which will allow it to hug walls and furniture. It's a nice change from the standard hockey puck shape of the majority of robovacs. However, we found it to be only incrementally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with a superior filter system that prevents microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. It's a nice premise, but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the premium price tag.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of a combination of sensors to remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles, such as stairs and other barriers, and to tidy up your entire house in the most efficient way possible. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, and create virtual boundaries, so it can recognize areas that require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a robot that combines mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are just as good as those on higher-end models. And its mopping system is even better as its spinning pads clean your floors more effectively than the vibrating pads.

The only issue is that it lacks a second rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but it's a small cost to pay for if you want to get one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's tank for dust is also bigger than those on many of its rivals, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the highest dirt level.

For the mopping system, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. The two lowest mopping settings which are less powerful than high-powered ones, create low noise, which means you can work or even watch television without being distracted. It will gently hit a wall or furniture and move on when it encounters one.

The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical trash to the bin hidden in the background and washes and drys the mop pads, and best sweep and mop robot vacuum refills its clean water tank. The app will only notify you if something is wrong like a low clean water tank or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to an empty bin.

You can also design and merge rooms to modify how the Q Revo will treat your home. That's a handy feature if you have multiple areas of your home with different flooring materials or there's some clutter that must be cleared out frequently, like toys, clothes and books. The robo-vac is also very efficient and was among the top performers during my tests, removing dirt from carpets and hardwoods on the first pass. It is able to even clean up spills that are wet, though I recommend wiping them dry with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo with all the features you can need. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum that has powerful suction that cleans carpet and hard floors, plus an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also has an automatic cleaning station that cleans and empty the mop pads to keep them clean and ready to be reused. It also features a new sensor system that is able to better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to avoid falling over furniture or other objects.

The most significant improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it is sleeker and more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still large--it is more than two feet in height and depth and weighs almost four pounds. However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot j7.

This version is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and can clean up 1,500 square feet in one charge. Additionally, it comes with a larger dustbin that is more durable to hold more debris and is easier to empty when required.

The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that can be used even when you're not at home. It also has a smart routing function that allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a set path.

The X2 Omni has the top mopping performance of any robot we've tested thanks to its mop pads that rotate to scrub away tough stains and a motor that creates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is excellent, and it increases suction when it detects carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It also has a large battery that can last for weeks between charges, and its mopping mode is as efficient as the ones we've seen on a consumer-grade robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a high-end model that offers a number of convenience features not often found on robots in this price range. It can build detailed floor maps, identify different flooring types and is among the few to automatically wash and dry its mop pads. These are nice features however they can push the L10s into the luxury category. This could make it more expensive than what homeowners want.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It is tall and slim, with a white finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is adorned with an enormous bumper that shields the robotic vacuum cleaner with mop cleaner and furniture while moving around your home. In the pane in the front is additional navigation technology with sensors that aid the L10s Ultra maneuver tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the screen, you'll find one button that acts as an on/off switch. By pressing this button, you can activate the vacuum, and pressing it again will turn off the vacuum and send it back to its base station. The circular menu located in the center of the control panel allows you to select cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons beneath the screen will open the settings menu of the app where you can alter the way that the L10s Ultra integrates with your home.

Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to map out your home. This helps the robot vacuum and mop effectively without getting stuck. The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum and mop in one to recognize and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for households with children or pets.

The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance that clears 98.4 percent of the debris from our test on the hard floor and getting rid of all but the most difficult juice stain. The mops also work well in removing 98.4 percent of debris from our carpet, tile, and wood tests. However, it wasn't as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor or Quaker oats on carpet.
