Choosing a Double Pushchair Twin

When you have twins, you'll require a double pushchair in order to get them from A to B. Our range includes a range of twin best prams and double buggies that come in a variety of configurations to meet your family's requirements.

Choose a stroller that folds in one step and is easy to put into your car. You may also prefer a lighter design, especially when you're on busy high streets.

Side-by-Side

These are the most common type of double pushchair and generally can seat two children together. They're generally wider than single pushchairs. This makes them less able to maneuver on footpaths. It can also be difficult to move between kerbs when an automobile seat is installed. The extra size allows them to move more easily through doorways and are more evenly distributed so that it is easier for you to carry them on your back.

They can be used as twin prams from the beginning and a lot of models can accommodate a carrycot or two car seats. Some models can be converted to a single mode with a basket to the side (like the Cybex Venus).

One of the most excellent examples of this is the Bugaboo Donkey 5 which, in Twin Mode, allows you to place the rear seat and a carrycot side by side. This creates a totally enclosed space for twins and is perfect for babies. This pram also comes with a number of really cool accessories, such as the newborn cocoons which can be positioned to face either direction (for a twin-facing pram) or facing forwards (for a normal single). It's not as light as other options, but it's extremely well-thought out.

Lightweight

Cybex is known for its ingenuity and this pushchair that converts from a single to a double is no different. The clever frame can be expanded to accommodate a second seat, and you can use it as a twin right from birth with the addition of two newborn cocoons (PS59 each) which provide enclosed, lie-flat areas for infants. The large basket of shopping behind the seat lets it be used in mono mode for one child. It comes with front and rear suspensions, so it can handle bumps and uneven surfaces with ease. It is a top pick among our reviewers.

Available in a variety fashionable colors.

Tandem

If you're planning to have twins, you need a tandem pushchair that allows the children to be seated close to each other, so they can be able to see each one another. They are ideal for activities such as visiting the zoo because the kids will be able to look at all the animals together. They're also ideal for parents who have to keep an eye on their toddler and the other on their child because they can see both of them at the same time.

Some tandem pushchairs are extremely adaptable, as they can be converted to single mode. This is especially handy if you're planning to have more than two children (or Pushchair Twin only your oldest does not require a buggy anymore). This means that you won't be left with an empty pushchair to put away which can be expensive.

This isn't the heaviest of pushchairs, however it comes with a large basket for shopping that is placed behind the front seat in double mode (and at the back of the seat when it's mono mode). The seats can be placed so that they face each opposite or higher up to be able to see what the other is doing.

Other double tandem pushchairs, such as the Joolz Geo 3, are equipped to place one on top of the other or side by side. The sleek, compact frame makes it easier to navigate through doorways and aisles in supermarkets. Some models can also be used on uneven terrain or for a jogging path due to their wide rear wheels and four-wheel suspension.

Another benefit of a tandem pushchair is that it can include two carrycots, or a car seat and a buggy seat. This allows you to create a travel system from the beginning and save money on additional purchases. Remember that tandems are heavier and longer, and they may feel less stable when bumping up kerbs or navigating uneven surfaces. These pushchairs must also be dismantled in order to fit into cars.
